***FREEDOM RIDE!!*** It's been a long and busy week in rescue, but we couldn't let this cutie's freedom ride from the shelter go unnoticed. Letty is a sweet Pit Bull around 1-2 years old. She's excellent with other dogs, did great in the car, and is hoping her furever family will see this. She'll be ready for adoption next weekend, but you can pre-adopt her now by applying on our website: shelterfriends.org
**PUPDATE** Bobbi has officially "licked" parvo and is ready to go home with a foster family!! The only problem is that all of our foster homes are already full. Here are the requirements to foster sweet little Bobbi: 1. Your own pets must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations. 2. Your dogs need to be at least a year old since she can still shed the virus for up to the next 2 weeks. Older dogs have a much better immune system to fight it off, especially if they've been properly vaccinated. 3. You must have a fenced yard.
We'll provide you with all of her food, Vet visits, a crate, puppy pads, etc. You give her a loving home until she's adopted. It's a win WIN!! Apply now on our website if you'd like to help little Bobbi: shelterfriends.org/foster-application/

I went to the shelter this morning to rescue another dog, and while there the officer asked if I'd help him get photos of a puppy he'd brought in recently. Afterwards he showed me where she'd had diarrhea in her kennel, and by the looks of it I was very concerned. So I took a sample into our Vet for testing and was sad to learn she was positive for parvo. She was rushed into our Vet and is receiving supporting treatment, and believe it or not is still very lively at the moment. My prayer is that since we've caught it early, she has a good chance of survival. But they also found a heavy load of hookworms, so this will likely be an uphill battle. Please put little Bobbi in your puppy prayers, and donate towards her care if you can! There are 3 easy ways to donate: 1. On our YouCaring fundraiser: www.youcaring.com/friendsoftheshelterfoundation-954398?utm_campaign=buttonshare&utm_medium=url&ut... 2. Call Ranchwood Veterinary Hospital to donate directly to our account: 405-794-5551 3. Mail a check made out to "FSF" to : PO Box 32, Newcastle, OK 73065
